Summary Variational is a perps protocol on Arbitrum. Its Omni app offers zero-fee trading on about 500 markets and is in private beta. $VAR TGE is planned for Q4 2026. There is no public token sale. Funding came only from private VC rounds.

Tokenomics 32% airdrop to points holders, fully unlocked at TGE. 50% team and investors, locked 12 months, then unlocked over at least 3 years. 18% ecosystem reserve at the Foundation's discretion. Total supply and emission schedule are not published. If only the airdrop circulates at TGE, FDV is about 3.1x market cap.

Unlock risk Day one: the whole float belongs to points farmers with zero cost basis, so sell pressure is concentrated at TGE. From month 12: insiders add about 1.4 to 2.1% of total supply per month.

Team Founders Lucas Schuermann and Edward Yu are public. Audited by Zellic and Spearbit, with an Immunefi bug bounty. Claims about the wider team are not verifiable, and no audit is listed after Mar 2025.

Key risks One market maker (OLP) is the counterparty to every trade. Prices come from an in-house oracle. The OLP vault is a regular address, not a smart contract. Mainnet is not launched and TGE has already slipped once. The team/investor split is not disclosed.
