Project Research Dossier: Hippius — Bittensor Subnet 75
Project Research Dossier Hippius, Bittensor subnet 75 7 October 2026
Constraint Hippius is already a live subnet, so it is not a clean pre-TGE case if the parent network token is counted. This note treats the subnet product only. No separate Hippius public sale or Hippius-specific FDV was found in the docs used. Do not describe TAO as a Hippius ICO.
Goal Hippius positions itself as decentralized storage on Bittensor subnet 75. The stated product is S3-compatible object storage for files, backups, and larger datasets, with files encoded into pieces and distributed across miners. The console exposes files, buckets, and keys. It matters because storage buyers usually depend on one cloud region and one provider account. Here the claim is that redundancy sits across miners rather than one company disk. That claim is only as strong as the miner set and the retrieval path. Sources: https://docs.hippius.com/ and the subnet console linked from Bittensor subnet 75.
and the console. They do not, in the pages used, replace a named-founder check, an audit, or a reviewed repository. Team score stays incomplete until those links are added.
Key risks Technical: erasure coding and multi-miner storage still fail if retrieval or repair lags. A gateway is an availability dependency. Incentive: miner rewards can favor storage quantity over durable retrieval. Execution: S3 compatibility can be partial. A bucket API is not proof of enterprise durability. Legal: stored data can create privacy and takedown duties that a subnet page does not settle.
