Project Research Dossier — FLOP Network ($FLOP)
Research date: 1 October 2026
FLOP is designing an account-based blockchain around Proof of Useful Inference (PoUI). AI agents submit compute requests, miners execute inference, and validators verify the work and maintain the network.
Pre-TGE / raise screen: The official FLOP teaser states that there is no token sale and no investor allocation. It describes the genesis distribution as earned through testnet participation. The current project documentation places the testnet in Q4 2026 and mainnet in Q1 2027, so this research treats FLOP as pre-TGE at the research date.
Tokenomics: The latest draft Yellow Paper specifies 4.4B FLOP genesis supply: 1.2B miner allocation, 1.2B validator allocation, 1.2B agent allocation and 0.8B ecosystem reserve. Era-0 block reward is 96 FLOP/block, split 75% miners, 10% validators, 10% agents and 5% stakers. There is also a separate 8 FLOP/block subsidy to Flop Labs and 8 FLOP/block to the Flop Foundation.
Unlock and dilution risk: The genesis pool is not equivalent to immediately liquid supply. Different cohorts have different release mechanisms. Miner allocations have a liquid portion and additional unlocking tied to future mainnet inference activity; validator allocations are bonded and released after the first halving; agent allocation liquidity is still partly unresolved. Ongoing block emissions also continue after the halving schedule, with the latest Yellow Paper specifying a 3 FLOP/block perpetual floor.
Team verification: The strongest primary-source signals are the public Flop Labs GitHub organization, technical decision records, Yellow Paper and identified Flop Labs/Foundation entities. Individual biographies and community claims should be separately corroborated rather than treated as verified merely because they appear in third-party posts.
