DataLine Project Research Report
Written for the quest “Seeing the Long Game” with 家的味道 on The Republic.
Overview
DataLine is a Web3 AI agent pipeline built to solve the security problem of unreliable data input for AI agents. In the complex Web3 environment, AI agents are programmed to automatically collect on-chain and off-chain data and execute various operations, including token swaps, contract calls and asset transfers. These automated tools can be easily tricked by fake, manipulated or biased information coming from untrusted data feeds. Once misled by bad data, AI agents may execute incorrect transactions, resulting in permanent financial losses for users. DataLine creates a full multi-stage verification framework to examine and filter all raw information before the AI agent reaches any final decision. The core purpose of this project is to build a reliable safety barrier between raw data sources and agent actions, defending users against data manipulation and deception attacks that are common in the Web3 ecosystem.
Core Workflow
DataLine adopts a five-stage pipeline: raw data collection, source credibility verification, data threshold filtering, manual human review, and final decision execution. For high-risk operations such as large token transfers and critical contract interactions, human approval is mandatory before the action can be executed. This architecture separates data gathering and decision-making into independent steps. It greatly lowers the possibility that malicious fake data hijacks AI agent behavior, and adds an essential safety layer to protect user digital assets. This human-in-the-loop design balances automation and security, which is a practical solution for Web3 AI agent risks.
Project Risks
The manual review step will reduce the overall response speed of AI agents. Meanwhile, the whole system’s accuracy still depends on the quality and integrity of the underlying data sources. If the original data source itself is hacked or compromised, the pipeline may not detect hidden risks in time. Another obvious limitation is the high labor cost for human reviewers when the platform receives a large volume of agent requests. A surge of pending tasks will create heavy review backlogs and hurt the user experience. Scaling the human review system will become a major challenge as more users adopt this agent tool.
